About Oscar Elizondo

Based in Pharr, Texas, Oscar Elizondo is a seasoned business leader embarking on a new phase of his career. Previously focused on healthcare, he is currently transitioning to construction.

With a career spanning multiple industries, Oscar now directs his operational expertise and financial discipline toward commercial and residential construction and remodeling throughout Texas, with home services starting to expand.

Although Oscar’s professional direction has evolved toward the construction sector, his transition draws from his years of hands-on experience in real estate investment and project management. This background allows him to take on more complex building and renovation projects.

In his construction work, Oscar focuses on delivering durable, high-quality structures. At the same time, he strives to expand services to meet the growing demand for reliable construction work across both residential and commercial markets.

Early Professional Career and Corporate Foundations

Oscar Elizondo is an alumnus of the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. His entry into the professional workforce led him to delve into corporate tax preparation and accounting, where he worked with mid-sized and large organizations. These early roles provided the aspiring business leader with a thorough understanding of financial systems, budgeting, and operational efficiency.

The next step in Oscar’s career was assuming the regional manager position at ADP Payroll Processing, Inc. In this role, he was responsible for expanding business operations across South Texas, developing client relationships, and executing strategic growth initiatives.

Oscar’s ability to combine disciplined planning with consistent execution highlighted his valuable contributions to ADP. He was duly recognized as Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year, attesting to his dedication and professionalism.

Embarking on Real Estate and Construction Ventures

Before transitioning into construction, Oscar was actively involved in the real estate sector. After earning his real estate license on his first attempt, he became an active investor and agent, buying and selling more than $20 million in property between 2012 and 2018.

Even then, Oscar displayed an uncommon practical understanding of market demand and property value. This allowed him to further hone his skills in evaluating property value, identifying investment opportunities, and managing transactions.

Oscar’s roots in construction actually stretch back further than most people know. In 2003, he began building homes alongside his cousin Rudy Elizondo. What started as a side pursuit gradually evolved into something more serious. Over the years, he remodeled properties of his own and sharpened the skills that would eventually form the foundation of a full business model. That vision took shape in 2019 with the creation of Zondo Construction and Zondo Roofing, overseeing the planning and execution of residential homes, apartment complexes, and commercial buildings across South Texas.

Oscar wasn’t only focused on new construction. He was also adept at extensive renovation and restoration projects, eventually focusing primarily on remodeling churches, commercial buildings, and residential properties.

These projects often require careful coordination, structural assessment, and attention to design details, all of which Oscar possessed in abundance. He quickly developed a reputation for preserving the integrity of existing buildings while modernizing their functionality, with a focus on efficiency, cost control, and long-term durability.

Building on his remodeling experience, Oscar has continued to expand his roofing services, an area of high demand across Texas given the region’s climate. He is also exploring the future addition of foundation repair services to offer clients an increasingly comprehensive range of structural solutions.

Construction Leadership

Oscar Elizondo’s leadership style is characterized by clear timelines, accountability, and coordination among contractors, engineers, and clients. Whether managing a ground-up residential home, commercial build/remodel, or a residential remodel, he approaches each project with an emphasis on quality workmanship and efficient execution.

Oscar’s ability to align financial planning with on-site operations keeps projects on schedule and within scope. His ability to build long-term relationships within the construction ecosystem—including suppliers, subcontractors, and local stakeholders—has been crucial to ensuring smoother project delivery and consistent results across different types of builds.

Community Involvement and Personal Life

Despite his busy schedule, Oscar remains closely connected to his community. He has served on the Economic Development Board in Pharr, where he currently lives.

Oscar’s community involvement reflects his ongoing commitment to regional development. His contributions to the local community reflect his work in construction and infrastructure improvement.

Oscar is also a regular contributor to nonprofit and youth organizations. He has held leadership roles at local Boys and Girls Clubs, on economic development corporation boards, and in Lions Clubs, and has coached youth sports.

Outside of work, Oscar enjoys cycling, running, fishing, hiking, and watching the Texas Longhorns play.

As a father, he supports his children as they pursue careers in healthcare, maintaining a connection to the industry he was involved in earlier in his career.

From corporate accounting to healthcare and construction, Oscar Elizondo remains focused on professional growth and evolution. Through his current focus on commercial and residential construction, remodeling, and roofing, and with foundation repair on the horizon, he aims to improve the physical spaces that serve people and communities across Texas.
